Looking For Baseball Players

The Shreveport-Bossier Captains have scheduled their 2011 open tryouts for Saturday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at Fair Grounds Field. The tryout will be conducted by Captains coaches and some players. At least one tryout participant will get an invitation to spring training, which begins May 1.In 2010, four players earned roster spots for spring training and two made the opening day roster. One of them, catcher Glenn Wilson, remained with the team all season, helping Shreveport-Bossier take the 2010 American Association championship. Registration begins at 1 p.m., costs $25 and includes a Captains T-shirt. Participants must bring all of their own gear.  The 2010 American Association Champion Shreveport-Bossier Captains thank all of the people who made the 2010 regular season such a success.
