A local Army veteran gets a little help this weekend. 90-year-old Frank Vaccaro fought in, and nearly died at, the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. And tomorrow, he’ll have his house painted by volunteers from the Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana. What makes this extra special is that many of the volunteers will be servicemen and women from Barksdale Air Force Base, honoring one of their own veterans with a day of service. Work is set to begin at 7 tomorrow morning, and should be wrapped up by 11, because of the expected high heat.
