Local Teachers and Principals Up For Statewide Awards

Several educators from Northwest Louisiana have been named as finalists for the Louisiana Teacher and Principal of the Year awards. Making the short list for teachers are Amber Beach from Princeton Elementary and Kristin Hudson from Donnie Bickham Middle School. Nominees for Principal of the Year include Carolyn Barfield from Homer Junior High and Sedric Clark from Mansfield High.

The winners of the awards will be announced this evening during the 10th Annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Symposium in Baton Rouge.
