Local Tax Preparer Arrested for Theft

A local tax preparer is in some hot water. Caddo sheriff’s investigators say 27-year-old Jamekia Green electronically filed the victim’s 2011 tax return, then had the more than $4,700 refund deposited onto a pre-paid card in another name. Green never gave the money to the victim, keeping it instead for her own personal use. She told the victim that her return was being audited by the IRS, and no refund would be released. She’s been booked into Caddo Correctional Center on a theft charge.
