Local Soldier Dies in Crash on I-49
An Army National Guardsman from Shreveport is killed in a wreck.

The two Guardsmen were headed home from Hammond, Louisiana where they were helping out Hurricane Isaac victims, when their Humvee was hit by an 18-wheeler. 30-year-old Sergeant Kevin Weiner was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 32-year-old John Fike of Bossier City, suffered minor injuries. Both men were wearing seat belts. The driver of the big rig was not hurt. Toxicology results are pending. Thoughts and prayers go out to the families today!
