Students from half-a-dozen Caddo and Bossier high schools have been spending their days this week at Bossier Parish Community College.

They're participating in Energy Camp Louisiana, a week-long camp designed to expose students to the exciting and vital role the energy industry is playing in Northwest Louisiana.

The hand-on camp aims to educate and energize local young people about fossil fuels, alternative energies, and energy efficiency and conservation.  This is the fifth year for the camps.  Two more are planned for this Summer -- one each at Southern-Shreveport and Northwestern State.

Students spent the morning, today, making solar ovens out of pizza boxes.  You can see some video of that here:  http://youtu.be/RDABZ2b02vw  This afternoon, they built solar cars.2b02vw
