Some parents might have been alarmed to see fire trucks outside a local elementary school this morning, but it wasn't as bad as it looked.

Bossier Schools Liaison Sonja Bailes says after breakfast was served at Carrie Martin Elementary in Plain Dealing, a deep fryer caught fire and the school was evacuated.

The fire was contained to the fryer and there were no injuries. The cafeteria is being ventilated and children should return to class soon. State testing has to be delayed until the all-clear is given.

Alternative lunch arrangements are being made. We'll have more info as we get it.
