Reggie Bush will be playing for his third team in five years next season. The former Saints running back was released earlier today by the Detroit Lions following an injury plagued season in which he appeared in only 11 games.

Bush was a 1,000-yard rusher for Detroit in his first season with the club, but couldn't stay healthy in 2014. He suffered an ankle injury in the Lions' fifth game and never completely healed.

The former Heisman Trophy winner would have been paid more than $5 million next season if Detroit had kept him on their roster. Bush, who just completed his ninth year in the league, turns 30 next week.
