LifeShare Gives to Food Bank in Honor of Holiday Blood Donors
LifeShare Blood Centers donated more than 800 canned goods to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana today, along with a $500 donation made in honor of one Shreveport donor.
For every blood donation made at LifeShare from November 27 through December 24, the agency donated a canned good to the area food bank. In all, more than 2,700 canned goods were donated to our local food bank and ones in Central Louisiana, Greater Baton Rouge, Water’s Edge in Lake Charles, Southeast Texas and Harvest Regional, which serves the Texarkana area.
The $500 donation was made following a drawing that was held on Christmas Eve. According to a LifeShare news release, Shreveport resident Wanda Brown joined her 17-year-old daughter Le’ebony in giving blood for the first time on December 22. Brown was randomly selected as the winner of a $500 gift card and a $500 contribution to the food bank on her behalf.
LifeShare Blood Centers supplies blood components to 117 medical facilities throughout Louisiana, east Texas and south Arkansas.
