Legalization of Medical Marijuana Takes Big Step

After two days of debate, the Louisiana State Senate has advanced legislation that would make medical marijuana legal. Marijuana for medicinal use has been legal in Louisana for 2 decades but no one has been able to legally use it due to a lack of frame work for distribution and cultivation.

The bill will assist lawmakers in working through some of the legal hang ups as well as provide relief for those suffering from glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy and other ailments. The bill will now move to the house for final approval.
