Labor Leader Bussie’s Funeral Today

Services will be held at noon today at First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge for long-time Louisiana labor leader Victor Bussie (bew-see). The retired Shreveport firefighter died Sunday at a Baton Rouge hospital -- he was 92. One of his final requests was that the Shreveport Fire Department participate in his memorial service. So Fire Captain Joey Presley and Fire Engineer Greg Powell are in Baton Rouge to operate the truck that will lead the processional. Their union local will pick up the tab.
