We've been waiting for a while to find out what the 2013 Krewe of Centaur parade route will be. Now we know. Krewe spokeswoman Angie Costakis says it will go back to the old route, starting near Sci-Port on Clyde Fant Parkway at Lake Street, down Shreveport-Barksdale Highway, onto East Kings, and ending on Preston Avenue.

And you'll be excited to know that the parade Grand Marshals are local celebrities -- and Academy Award-winners -- William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg of Moonbot Studios. Costakis tells KEEL News the guys have already started getting custom-made beads and cups made for the festivities.

The theme this year is "Centaur's Parade of Festivals," featuring 31 floats decorated as festivals from across the world, including Mudbug Madness, the Roswell UFO Festival, Navy Fleet Week and Oktoberfest. The parade also features 10 marching bands, several specialty units, and over 2-million beads, cups, stuffed animals, doubloons and toys.

If you want to reserve your spot along the Duck Pond, it'll cost you. Spaces are $75 each, and will be handed out via lottery. Call Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation before December 28th to be added to the lottery list. Winners will be notified by phone on January 2nd. If you had a space last year, you'll be able to renew that by mail or in person. Letters regarding that will be mailed December 3rd.
