A Keatchie man has been arrested for being intoxicated when he crashed his vehicle and caused a 4-year-old boy to be ejected from the car.

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator says the crash happened July 3rd on Highway 169 in Keithville, when 25-year-old Daniel Jackson lost control of his Chevy Cavalier and drove it off the highway and into the woods. He and the 4-year-old were ejected, and there was no child safety seat in the vehicle. Jackson was taken to LSU Health with serious injuries. The boy was treated for minor injuries and released.

Deputies got a warrant for Jackson's arrest, charging him with vehicular negligent injury, DWI, child endangerment and child safety restraint violations. They found him hiding in the bathroom of his house, and arrested him.
