The man convicted of killing 70-year-old retired Blanchard minister Jullian Brandon Junior and seriously wounding his wife, Alice, on New Year's Day 2003 is getting a new trial. Jury selection begins today in Caddo Distrcit Court. Robert Coleman had his conviction and death sentence overturned by the Louisiana Supreme Court in 2007 after it was determined that a black juror was thrown out on racial grounds. Coleman and his girlfriend at the time, Brandy Holmes were both convicted of first-degree murder in Pastor Brandon's death and condemned to die by lethal injection. Holmes continues to sit on death row at Angola State Penetentury.
