A Jonesboro man is accused of setting several grass fires in Jackson Parish in Northeast Louisiana.

State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says 22-year-old Justin Murphy is charged with arson for allegedly setting 6 grass fires while he was a volunteer firefighter back in 2010 and 2011. The information came to light when Murphy was being questioned about a fire in Liberty Hill in Bienville Parish that charred 800 acres and destroyed one home this week.

No other arrests have been made yet, but the State Forestry Office is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to arrests in connection with other woods fires in our region.
