Jones, Cowboys Take A Knee ‘For Unity’ [VIDEO]
Owner Jerry Jones led his Dallas Cowboys team onto the field Monday night before the team's contest against Arizona, then prior to the singing of the National Anthem, he and the entire squad knelt in what team officials say was "a statement for equality and a representation of unity." Jones, the coaching staff and the Cowboys stood and joined arms as the anthem was sung. The Cowboys also stated they "wanted to make it very clear that their call for unity was separate from the National Anthem."
Meanwhile, the Cardinals joined arms in the end zone with members of the military as the anthem was sung. Arizona announced that they had extended an invitation to the Cowboys to join them, but were told that Jones and the team had plans of their own.
