One man is dead after a shooting in North Shreveport.

Here's the news release from Shreveport Police:

Officers are on the lookout for a suspect who allegedly shot and killed a local man after a dispute in the Martin Luther King neighborhood early this morning.
Just after 9:45 a.m. on November 30, 2014, Shreveport Police Patrol officers were dispatched to the Cooper Road Plaza Apartments, in the 2900 block of Peach Street, relative to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers observed 17 year old Jonate Carter of Shreveport, had been shot once in the upper body. Carter was transported by the Shreveport Fire Department to University Health Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, shortly there after.
Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives and Crime Scene personnel were advised of the shooting and responded to the scene. Preliminary information gathered at the scene of the crime suggests Carter and an unidentified suspect were engaged in a dispute of an unknown nature, when the offender allegedly fired multiple rounds from a weapon, one of which struck Carter in the upper body. Following the shooting the suspect fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. Detectives are working at this hour in efforts to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for this crime.
