United States Senator John Kennedy talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty on the continuing FBI investigation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and when he expects the expects an up or down vote to reach the Senate floor.

Kennedy, who is also a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, recently told Fox News that anyone who thinks that Democrats' investigations of Kavanaugh are about the truth "ought to put down the bong."

Realclearpolitics.com quoted the Senator's interview with Martha McCallum:

Sen. John Kennedy said anybody who thinks the FBI probe into Brett Kavanaugh is about searching for the truth is kidding themselves. In an interview with FNC's Martha MacCallum, Kennedy said the Washington "cosmopolitan culture crowd" think the American people are too stupid to figure this out.

"I'm going to stand by what I said two weeks ago. This is a freak show. An intergalactic freakshow. It's a grotesque carnival. And it's only going to get worse. And I am embarrassed for the United States Senate. We have hit bottom and started to dig," Kennedy said.

Kennedy also told KEEL listeners that he expects a confirmation vote on Kavanaugh to come soon after the FBI's investigation wraps up.
