Jindal Signs I-49 Funding Bill

Governor Bobby Jindal came to Shreveport to sign legislation that will fund the last leg of I-49 north.  House Bill-370 by Representative Jane Smith will allow the state to bond-out money from the unclaimed property fund -- to the tune of $100-million.  That, combined with funds from House Bill-2, the Capital Outlay Bill, will provide the funds needed to build the last two segments of the long-awaited highway.  Jindal says, if everything stays on schedule, we could be driving from Shreveport to the Arkansas line on I-49 as soon as 2016.
