Jim Crowley made a surprise announcement during last night's Mayoral Forum on KTBS.

This leaves only six candidates in the race to be the next Mayor of Shreveport. During the forum on KTBS last night, the candidates talked about streets, water and sewer troubles and other infrastructure issues. One key point made by all of the candidates is that we need to get a handle on how much money we have and how that money is being used.

The election is November 4th and the candidates have several more forums scheduled.

Here's a list:

Tuesday, Sept. 9 at noon: Media Lunch Bunch at Ralph & Kacoo’s. Commitments from Anna Marie Arpino, Sam Jenkins, Victoria Provenza.

Tuesday, Sept. 9 at noon: NSBA Patrick Williams and Ollie Tyler at NWLA Technical College. $15 677-4397.

Sunday, Sept. 21 from 4-6 p.m.: People Acting for Change and Equality (P.A.C.E.) at the Deaf Action Center, 601 Jordan Street.

Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.: Broadmoor and Captain Shreve Neighborhood Associations, Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, Grover Place.
