Jewella Evacuee Shelter Set to Close Today As South Louisiana Residents Head Home

They’re going home…but is it a good thing? South Louisiana residents staying at our local shelter on Jewella Avenue now have to face the damage Hurricane Isaac caused to their homes. Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director Sandy Davis tells us many residents of St. John the Baptist Parish were bussed out last night, and the rest of them — as well as ones from Plaquemines — should be headed home by noon today.
