Louisiana's Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne tells 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty that his appearance Friday before the Senate Finance Committee - a meeting at which Dardenne describes himself as "animated" - as "part of the process" in putting together a final financial plan for the state.

Dardenne tells KEEL listeners that in speaking to the committee, he made the case that "we ought not to have a budget right now and we ought to wait until the special session arrives." The Senate committee had previously passed their own version of the budget prior to Dardenne's testimony. He continued, "The budget that the Senate passed, by their own admission, the chairman's own admission, was a pretend budget with no expectation that it will become reality."
