Louisiana's Commissioner of Administration Jay dardenne talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about Governor John Bel Edwards plan to sign or veto the state budget bill.

Dardenne tells KEEL listeners that "it's unlikely that this will become the budget that governs our expenses for the next fiscal year." The Governor has called for another legislative session which will begin on May 22 "during which we hopefully will consider the revenue options that we've talked about many times before to try to get enough revenue to do the things that the people of the state expect state government to do."

Regarding the timing of the passage of the bill, the special session and a possible governor's veto, Dardenne cites both regular and special legislative sessions inability to solve the state's budget woes to JBE's satisfaction: "There are a lot of balls to keep in the air and these balls have been in the air for quite some time now. Certainly the budget (the legislature) has sent to the Governor is anything but responsible."
