James Spader Will Play Ultron in Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’
Marvel fans around the world were happy to learn this week that Emmy-winning actor James Spader will star in the upcoming sequel “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” playing the part of the villain Ultron.
Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki in the original “Avengers” as well “Thor” and its upcoming sequel “Thor: The Dark World,” endorsed the choice.

The director of “Age of Ultron,” Joss Whedon, even teased fans about the Spader-Robert Downey Jr. reunion. The pair notable starred together as a drug dealer and a junkie in “Less Than Zero” in 1987.
