Big doings tonight at the Louisiana Boardwalk. What's being billed as the largest Christmas tree in north Louisiana -- all forty feet of it -- will come to light at 6 p.m., signaling the official start of the holidays in Shreveport-Bossier.

The lights came on last weekend in Minden at the start of Fasching. And, this Saturday, the spectacle known as the Natchitoches Festival of Lights will draw oohs and ahhs from young and old alike.

It's all part of the Holiday Trail of Lights that stretches from Natchitoches to Shreveport/Bossier to Monroe. Would you believe this is the 86th year for the Natchitoches Christmas lights?
