Some states across our nation have certain reputations, for, shall we say, playing a little fast and loose with the law. New York, New jersey, Illinois and, yes, our own Louisiana come immediately to mind. But when it comes down to cold, hard numbers, just how dishonest are we?

Well, a recent analysis of real data used four indicators to measure which states’ politicians muddy the water, and which are clean as a whistle: Corruption convictions, convictions per capita, reporter ratings and lack of anti-corruption laws.

The states with the highet number of corruption convictions? New York, California, and Illinois landed in the top three spots

But because those states have higher populations and thus more politicians, the conviction rate per capita was noted in the second column.

So, the top offenders per capita? Louisiana, Mississippi and Alaska, in that order.

So how does our home state stack up when all categories are taken into consideration? Do we really live in one of the most corrupt states in the USA? Well, find out now! To see the complete results of the corruption study, JUST CLICK HERE!
