The announcement sparked outrage among Instagram users, who began deleting the app from there smart phones by the thousands.

Management at the photo app company, which is owned by Facebook, has pulled an about-face and announced it will not be selling the photos of its users.

This still raises the question: Do you own the rights to these photos? Who can use them and for what purposes?

I'm just gonna tell you, if you put it online, you never know where it might end up. New Instagram rules go into effect on January 16. You should read these rules before uploading anything too personal via the app!
