Does your child know what the word "independence" means? He or she can showcase that, with a new art contest created through a partnership between the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl and Caddo and Bossier Parish schools.

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade get to express artistically what "independence" means to them. Each child will be given a "Show Your Independence" drawing paper, which will have a framed area for each student to create a drawing.

Art teachers from each elementary school will select one winner from each grade level, and the winners get four tickets to the I-Bowl -- plus their artwork will be on display in Independence Stadium during the game.

All the winners' artwork will be submitted to the school districts for judging on overall winners from each grade level in Caddo and Bossier. Those winners get special recognition at the game.
