Slippery driving conditions could await Monday morning motorists in Shreveport/Bossier and across the Ark-La-Tex.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire area from 4am until noon Monday.

Precipitation is expected to begin as rain tonight -- maybe mixed with sleet.  As temperatures drop to near freezing, that rain will turn to freezing rain -- possibly mixed with sleet.  Accumulations of one-tenth-of-an-inch are expected.  That could cause hazardous driving conditions on bridges and overpasses.

Since most schools are out for the Thanksgiving holiday, that shouldn't pose a problem. But, for those who have to go to work in the morning, caution is advised.  Motorists are urged to get an early start and to watch out for ice on bridges and overpasses.
