With this year's Advocare V-100 Independence Bowl barely a month away, selection committee scouts have been busy. Bowl Chairman Fred Sexton says there's a lot to be considered when picking the teams.  For instance, the scouts are trying to find teams that will put a lot of local people in the stands while, at the same time, appealing to a national television audience.  This weekend, scouts will be at the Colorado State at TCU and Miami at South Florida games. Judge Sexton admits that TCU is very high on the bowl's wish list but he says there are four or five teams in each Conference -- Mountain West and Atlantic Coast -- that are still being looked at very closely.  This year's 36th annual I-Bowl game will be played on Monday, December 26th, with a 4:00pm kickoff.  It will once again be televised by ESPN.
