I-220 is back open after a morning single-vehicle wreck forced the closure of the eastbound lanes.

The stretch between North Market Street and Benton Road was closed for about 45 minutes as Shreveport emergency crews worked to get the driver of the overturned car out of the vehicle.

The closure occurred just after 9:30 a.m.

Shreveport Police Department said the wreck happened near the Red River Bridge and had the road reopened at around 10:20 a.m.

Shreveport Fire Department told 710 KEEL that the one driver has been taken to an area hospital.

Authorities had directed the eastbound traffic onto North Market Street, which consequently suffered from congestion delays due to the extra load.
