Hunters Warned About Illegal Parking

A reminder for all hunters from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries -- parking on the shoulders and grassy areas along Interstates and other highways is illegal and strictly prohibited. State Police say the shoulders of the road are designed for emergency stopping only. Troopers say parked vehicles pose a threat to motorists when they leave or re-enter the roadway. Plus, they say parked cars can pose a real hazard for motorists stopping for emergencies. Troopers say the owers of vehicles parked in prohibited areas could face fines or, even worse, have their vehicle towed off at their own expense.
