Houston Baby Left Alone in Parking Lot
A Houston mother is facing a child endangerment charge after a family member told authorities the woman's 13-month-old baby was found unattended in a parking lot in July.
The Houston Chronicle reports that 23-year-old Talia Nichelle Lumpkin is out on bond following an arrest after her daughter was taken to an emergency room on July 5. The child's aunt told investigators she found the child with multiple abrasions and took the girl to the hospital. She says it looks like the girl had been hit by a car. Court documents say hospital officials didn't believe Lumpkin's explanation that the child had fallen on playground equipment. A doctor reported that the child had three broken ribs.
