A Shreveport housekeeper was arrested today for stealing from her long-time employer, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Jessie Nelson-Collins, 67, of the 400 block of West 75th Street, was employed by the victim for over 10 years. For nearly four of those years, she used her position to steal blank checks from the victim’s home and later cashed them without his knowledge or consent.

Sheriff’s Detective Yomeka Evans said Nelson-Collins is accused of forging and cashing 41 checks between October 2011 and August 2015 for a total loss of $18,700.

Evans arrested Nelson-Collins for felony theft and booked her into the Caddo Correctional Center.
