A Sunday-morning fire displaces a north Shreveport family. At 3:40 yesterday morning, firefighters arrived at a house in the 1700 block of Bonnie Street in the MLK community to find the single-story, wood-framed home fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters had the blaze under control just after 4 o'clock. According to fire officials, the fire was set by a six-year-old who used matches to ignite a bed in the north side bedroom. Six children and one adult who were home at the time escaped without injury. The home sustained about $20,000 in fire damage.
