Visitors to the Barnwell Center late this morning were greeted by blowing snow. It was artificial, of course, and meant to set the stage for this year's "Holiday Trail of Lights" preview. This year the trail will include a special event to celebrate Louisiana's 200th birthday. Shreveport/Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau President Stacy Brown says that all-day bicentennial event is planned for November 17th in Natchitoches. The day will end with the official lighting of the Natchitoches Christmas Lights and a fireworks show. The trail consists of activities and lighting displays in Shreveport/Bossier, Minden, Monroe/West Monroe, Natchitoches, and Alexandria/Pineville.
