Highway 71 North Of Shreveport Back Open

Traffic is getting back to normal in north Shreveport after an early morning 18 wheeler fire.

Deputies have reopened Highway 71 north of town after an early morning 18 wheeler fire.  The highway was closed at the split with Highway 1 as a result of the fire. Hazmat crews were called to the scene to clear some spilled material from the roadway.cene to clear spilled material from the roadway.  The owner of the big rig is BF Freight from Fort Smith, Arkansas.  The 18 wheeler was carrying bottles of packaged Ethanol. No one was hurt.
