Some Caddo and Bossier Parish public boat launching ramps operated by the Red River Waterway Commission are closed due to rising water.

The RRWC says heavy rainfall in the Red River Valley has resulted in increased flows, and launching a boat into the swift current is not recommended.

Ramps at Teague Parkway, Stoner Avenue and the North Caddo recreation areas are shut down, but that doesn't mean the Red River is closed to boat traffic. Boaters can contact the private marinas to discuss launching conditions prior to arrival.

The recreation areas will remain open where possible, but the launching lanes will be closed. They'll re-open as soon as conditions improve.
