You have probably not heard of the Stella Awards. These are honors handed out to the people who filed and won the most frivolous lawsuits in the nation.

The awards are named after 81-year-old Stella Liebeck who is the woman who sued McDonald's and won after she spilled hot coffee on herself.

There was a tie for 5th Place

--Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas, wins $780,000 after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The toddler was her own son!

--19-year-old Carl Truman of Los Angeles won $74,000 and medical expenses. He sued after his neighbor ran over his hand with a car. Mr. Truman didn't notice the driver behind the wheel when he was trying to steal the hubcaps.

--Terrence Dickson of Bristol, Pennsylvania, wins $50,000 after he got trapped in a garage for eight days. This happened just after he burglarized the home. He sued because the garage door was malfunctioning.

4th Place:

Jerry Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, gets a check for more than $14,000 and medical expenses after he got bit on the butt by a neighbor's dog. Williams had climbed over the fence into the neighbor's yard and was shooting the dog with a pellet gun.

3rd Place:

A Philadelphia restaurant has to pay Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, $113,500 after she slipped on a soft drink and broke her tailbone. The drink had spilled on the floor when she threw it at her boyfriend.

2nd Place:

Kara Walton of Claymont, Delaware, broke into a nightclub bathroom to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. But she fell from the bathroom window and knocked out a couple of teeth. She wins $12,000 and dental expenses.

1st Place:

The winner was not hard to choose.First place goes to Mrs. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City. She sued Winnebago because she set the brand new motorhome's cruise control to 70 while driving on the freeway and got up from the drivers seat to go make herself a sandwich. The RV crashed and overturned. The jury awarded her $1,750,000 plus a new motor home. Winnebago has actually changed their manuals on the basis of this suit.
