With all the recent incidents involving law enforcement officers, these brave men and women are amidst some truly trying times. Because of that, a group of local women have organized an effort to unify the community and show our police and deputies support and prayer.

The effort, simply entitled "Prayers And Support For Local Law Officers," has devised a special way to let them know we have their backs.

Treat bags are being created to be distributed to our local law enforcement. These bags will be loaded with everything from chips, gum, mints, drinks and snack bars to pens, notepads and bottles of hand sanitizer.

This is where you can help.  In order to continue this effort, donations of these items are badly needed.

Each bag will also contain a laminated Bible scripture of protection, safety, encouragement and thankfulness. The officers will be able to keep the scriptures in their car, wallet, etc., so they can look at them daily and know that God and their community are praying for them.

Daycare facilities are also pitching in and will have the kids to make special cards to be included.

The effort started with helping the Haughton Police Department and has since included the entire Bossier Sheriff's Department.  It's also the organizers' hope that this effort will grow large enough so that they might also serve the Bossier City Police, Benton Police, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Department, Shreveport Police and outlying communities.
