The Louisiana Workforce Commission's Rapid Response Team, in cooperation with UAW Local 2166, will be offering help to Shreveport General Motors workers next week. They're not working right now. The plant's been idled because of its inability to obtain a necessary manufacturing component from earthquake-ravaged Japan. So the Rapid Response Team will set up shop next Tuesday and Thursday at the Business and Career Solutions Center on Viking Drive in Bossier City to offer basic computer skills training and seminars on employment services to any of the nine-hundred or so GM employes who would like to take advantage of it.
