Caddo deputies responded to an injury accident this morning on Hwy. 1 in north Caddo Parish, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The driver of a 1998 Saturn traveling northbound on Hwy. 1 crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Chevy Cobalt head-on.  The Chevy traveled off the roadway and caught fire.   Two female occupants had to be removed from the vehicle, according to deputies.

Both the driver of the Saturn and the driver of the Chevy were airlifted to LSUHSC.  The passenger in the Chevy was taken by ambulance to a local hospital (unknown at this time which one).  Conditions are not known at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Caddo Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
