Haughton Man Killed While Trying to Cross Hwy 80

Bossier City police are investigating an accident that left a pedestrian dead.

Police say just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, 26-year-old Matthew Dean Hill of Haughton was trying to cross the road in the 4400 block of East Texas Street, when he was hit by a westbound Hyundai Santa Fe.

Hill was taken to University Health with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Emergency personnel had to shut down a portion of East Texas Street while the Crash Investigation Unit worked the accident.
