Haughton Man Jailed for Firing Gunshot During Road Race Incident

A Haughton man has been arrested for allegedly firing a gunshot at another vehicle during an apparent case of road rage on a Bossier City street.

The victim tells police she and three passengers were driving northbound on Airline Drive at about 9:45 last night, when a pickup truck exited off of I-20 and nearly hit her car. She says as she continued down Airline Drive just past East Texas Street, the driver of the pickup pulled out a handgun and fired a shot the victim’s car. The round did not hit the vehicle or any her passengers.

The woman says she then following the truck as it left Bossier City and went into north Shreveport. That's where Caddo Parish Sheriff’s stopped both vehicles on Hwy 1 at Woodshire Circle.

Police say 29-year-old Matthew Sean Roberts faces a charge of assault by drive-by shooting. Caddo deputies booked him into the Caddo Correctional Center as a fugitive. He was later transferred into the Bossier City Jail, then the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.
