Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says 23 additional counts of video voyeurism and child pornography were charged against a Haughton man Monday afternoon.

Detectives charged Paul Holmes, 55, of the 700 block of Opal Circle in Haughton, with three counts of video voyeurism and 20 counts of pornography involving juveniles. This follows an investigation by the Northwest Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force of the Bossier City Marshal’s Office who searched computers that had been seized from Holmes’ residence during an arrest about seven weeks earlier.

Holmes was initially arrested on a Sunday afternoon back on Jan. 22 by the Haughton Police Department when they discovered he placed video cameras in a bathroom used by teenage girls during a youth group sleepover over the weekend. Investigators found evidence then that he positioned video cameras in a bathroom and recorded teenage juvenile females and an adult female on multiple occasions without their consent while in the bathroom at his residence. Charges at that time were for 17 counts of video voyeurism and four counts of pornography involving juveniles. He was later released on Feb. 2 with a $270,000 bond.

The new charges Monday were made after investigators with ICAC working with the Haughton Police Department and Bossier Sheriff’s Department found child pornography and images of video voyeurism on Holmes’ computer.

“We are extremely grateful for the professionalism of the Bossier City Marshal’s Office ICAC Task Force and the delicate undertaking they have in reviewing such evidence,” said Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen. “Heinous crimes like this are unthinkable, and we are adamant in our support of Haughton Police Chief Rodney Farrington and any law enforcement agency and their efforts to bring justice to such atrocities. Our message is clear – we will not tolerate anyone exploiting our children here in Bossier Parish – period.”

Holmes was transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility for booking Monday afternoon with a new bond set at $222,500. Authorities will continue their investigation.
