Haughton Man Dies in Traffic Accident

State Police responded to a report of a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Highway 157 at Bills Lane that claimed the life of a Haughton man.

The initial investigation finds that a Nissan Rogue driven by 48-year-old Kim Dewberry of Doyline was headed south on LA 157 when it hit 29-year-old Michael Morris Jr. of Haughton. Morris had been walking in the south lane near the white fog line. Troopers say
Morris was wearing dark clothing and there was no light in the area where he was walking. Morris died in the crash.

Troopers do not believe alcohol played a part in the wreck, but a toxicology sample was obtained, and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
