Would you sell your grandma's possessions for drug money? That's what a Haughton man is accused of doing. The Bossier Sheriff's Office says deputies saw 29-year-old Tramell Lars asking people for money in front of the CVS pharmacy in Haughton. They say he had a variety of gold jewelry in his pockets and said his sister had given it to him. He later admitted that he stole the jewelry from his grandmother and was trying to sell it -- hoping that the money from that, and the money from begging, would be enough to buy some crack cocaine. His grandmother showed up and confirmed the jewelry was hers. Lars was arrested with theft, illegally possessing stolen things and vagrancy.
