Guilty Verdict Could Mean Life In Prison For Rapist

A Shreveport man might be spending the rest of his life behind bars following his conviction late Wednesday on a rape charge.

A Caddo Parish jury deliberated just over an hour before unanimously returning a guilty verdict of aggravated rape against Willie B. Evans (d.o.b. 11-3-53) for a July, 2010 incident.  Caddo Parish District Court Judge Scott Crichton ordered Evans back in court Jan. 30 for sentencing. Evans could face a sentence of life in prison at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
