Two years ago today, a raging fire destroyed the headquarters and offices of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. So it seems fitting that today be chosen for the official groundbreaking to transform the old Central Fire Station into the new Central Art Station -- and the centerpiece of the area that will be known as Shreveport Common. The goal is to have the renovation complete by next August 25th. Funding for the $5-million renovation is coming from the City, Parish, and State -- the National Endowment for the Arts -- and private contributions from a number of generous donors.
