The nonprofit arm of the Downtown Shreveport Development Corporation has just scored two big grants from the Community Foundation of North Louisiana -- $100-thousand in total.

$25-thousand of that will be used to help fund a market study of Shreveport Common, the nine-block arts and culture district under development on the western edge of downtown.  The remaining $75-thousand will go to a program called "Develop Downtown" -- an incentive program designed to help save historic downtown structures by offering matching funds for repairing the face (or facade) of downtown buildings.
